As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of production management in one of ILSCO’s manufacturing departments. You’ll supervise employees, assign work, implement policies and procedures, and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. We’re looking for someone who is results-driven and strong in leadership, performance management, and problem solving/analysis.
Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Make employment decisions. Resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports.
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective or preventive action.
Perform accident investigations.
Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
- High school diploma or 2-year technical degree.
- 3 years of experience supervising in a production environment.
- Hands-on production experience, preferably in metal fabrication (i.e., press, stamping, machining).
- Ability to maintain work schedules and recommend staffing adjustments to produce quality product in a timely manner.
- Familiarity and compliance with OSHA standards.
- PC skills: MS Office (Word and Excel), Microsoft Outlook.
Other Helpful Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree, additional supervisory experience, or exposure to any of the following: lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, Six Sigma, or ISO (or other quality management system).
